Private Pilates sessions offer one on one training with one of The Pilates Edge’s certified instructors. Each session will be tailored to your specific needs, abilities, and fitness goals. Private sessions may utilize the mat, reformer, Cadillac, stability chair™, or other equipment depending on what is most appropriate for you.

Private sessions are the ideal way to help you achieve your personal fitness goals, and to address injuries and chronic conditions. During these sessions instructors can work with you to assess your strengths and weaknesses to create a personalized plan that will help you accomplish your goals.

Private Session Policies

  • Please arrive early for your session.
  • Bring socks, a towel, and comfortable clothes.
  • Cell phones must be silenced for the duration of the class.
  • All sessions must be prepaid. All prepaid sessions expire 3 months from date of purchase.

Semi-private sessions are designed for two people to receive joint instruction, which offer more personal instruction than group classes, but at a lower cost than a private session.

Semi-private sessions can be scheduled with a spouse, significant other, friend, or co-worker. These sessions allow instructors to offer you more personal instruction than is possible in a group session, and can be particularly effective if you and your partner are at similar fitness levels.

Group classes are designed to give a full body workout with a focus on core stability and strengthening of the arms, legs, back, and chest. Classes may incorporate the mat, reformer, stability chair™, spring wall™, barrels and or other equipment. Classes are also adapted to the fitness levels and goals of the clients, so it is important to discuss classes with your instructor to make sure you select the class that is right for you.

Group classes are limited to four participants to ensure the highest quality experience for everyone. Group classes are not suitable for those with osteoporosis, low back injury, or chronic back pain. If you have one of these or any other chronic condition, speak with an instructor before signing up for a group class. Also, all individuals are required to attend five private sessions before participating in group classes, in order to ensure that they are capable of safely participating.

Group Class Policies

  • Please arrive early for your class. All classes will start on time, and late arrivals can be disruptive to the other clients in the class.
  • Bring socks, a towel, and comfortable clothes.
  • Cell phones must be silenced for the duration of the class.
  • All group classes are prepaid with no cancellations or refunds for missed classes.
  • Group class funds are non-transferable.

Post-rehab sessions are intended for clients who have recently completed physical therapy or rehabilitation following an injury, surgery, or other condition. These sessions will focus on your specific condition by helping to strengthen your core and muscles in key areas that are vital to your recovery. Post-rehab sessions are 30 minutes long in order to avoid putting too much stress on recovering body parts, until you feel ready to progress to a full session.

Pilates has been shown to be very effective in strengthening the body after injuries or other conditions. If you are considering post-rehab Pilates training, please call The Pilates Edge at 405-463-3388 and one of our certified instructors will be happy to discuss your options.

The Pilates EdgeTM is excited to be the home of the first Polytrauma Pilates program in Oklahoma; a program designed to help injured veterans improve their lives through Pilates.

The kinds of injuries that are common in modern warfare (spinal injuries, loss of limbs, etc.) involve enormous systemic damage, which affects soldiers long after the injury has “healed.” Traditional rehabilitation programs help soldiers adapt to the new ways that their bodies function, and to learn to control muscles that have been affected by the injury.

Our Polytrauma Pilates program aims to take that rehabilitation even further, and to help injured veterans attain a fitness and mobility level that they may have thought impossible. This program is not designed to replace traditional rehabilitation, but rather to work hand in hand to offer veterans an opportunity for more complete recovery. While traditional rehabilitation focuses on major muscle groups, Polytrauma Pilates focuses on smaller stabilizer muscles and on core muscles that interact with the rest of the body. By doing so, injured veterans are able to gain more control and see a dramatic increase in their ability to move, exercise, and simply go about their daily lives.
